Which barcode do you actually need?
A barcode is a machine-readable pattern that encodes text or numbers. The symbology — Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A and so on — is just the ruleset for turning your data into bars. Retail products in Europe use EAN-13; North America uses UPC-A; shipping cartons use ITF-14; internal logistics and asset tags lean on Code 128 or Code 39 because they accept letters as well as digits.
2D codes (Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, QR) pack far more data into a small square and survive damage thanks to built-in error correction — which is why boarding passes, ID cards and tiny electronic parts use them. Pick the symbology your scanner or marketplace expects, type your value, and this tool renders it live with the correct check digit and quiet zone.
How to use

Pick the symbology.
EAN-13/UPC-A for retail, ITF-14 for cartons, Code 128 for anything alphanumeric, Data Matrix or PDF417 when you need a dense 2D code.

Numeric formats validate the length and add the check digit for you — the preview turns red if the value isn't valid for that symbology.

Scale up for print, keep high contrast (dark bars on a light background). Colored bars can hurt scan reliability under poor light.

Human-readable text under 1D barcodes helps at the till; turn it off for a clean sticker.
