Supabase gives you a real Postgres database — not a NoSQL document store — with an instant REST and GraphQL API, plus row-level security so the client can talk to it directly without a middleware tier.

Auth, file storage, edge functions and realtime subscriptions live in the same dashboard. You can self-host the whole stack if you ever outgrow the managed service.
